Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our Performing Arts department, teaching pupils across KS3 and GCSE.

Location: Easily accessible via public transport for those without a car
Salary: £25,000 to £45,000 (depending on qualifications and experience)

Requirements:

  • 1st or 2:1 degree preferred
  • Previous experience teaching music to students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels
  • Proficiency in playing and teaching at least one musical instrument
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with best practices in music education
  • A deep passion for music and a commitment to inspiring and nurturing students’ musical talents
  • Being highly qualified from a renowned music university
  • Having at least 3 years of teaching experience
  • Must hold QTS or equivalent teaching qualifications
  • Must have the Right to Work in the UK
  • Must hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to process one

Music Teacher – The role

  • Develop and implement engaging music curriculum tailored to the needs and interests of students
  • Teach music theory, history, and performance techniques
  • Provide individual and group instruction on various musical instruments (e.g., piano, guitar, violin, etc.)
  • Organise and oversee student recitals, performances, and competitions.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate music into interdisciplinary projects and activities
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and personal growth
